The Top 7 Benefits of Placenta Encapsulation

We compiled all of our statistics over the years of serving 100s of families in San Diego, and we have a tally to-date of what our own clients are saying about their experiences. We always knew that placenta encapsulation was a huge benefit to the immediate postpartum period, but because there is not a whole lot of formal scientific study on the benefits of placenta encapsulation, we decided to get a little scientific on our own.

Courtney and I made a fun little survey and we asked all of our placenta mamas that were at least 6 weeks postpartum, to take it for us so we could see just how effective placenta encapsulation is for the women and families we serve.

Take a look at what we discovered about the benefits of consuming your placenta:

Our clients are seeing some pretty spectacular results! Most markedly, new moms are experiencing a better mood and quicker healing during the time they took their placenta. Most of our placenta clients choose to have their placenta encapsulated, and the pills usually last anywhere from 3-6 weeks depending on how many capsules and individual dosing needs.

Some of our clients get a really powerful boost with taking their placenta raw in smoothies or by raw preparation method. This usually produces an increase in energy, decrease in feelings of sadness and decreased bleeding. Sign me up on a non-postpartum day!

Some of the other ways that women make their placenta benefits last the longest are by tincture method and salve preparation. The long term ingestion and application of placenta hormones have been reported to increase milk supply and keep it up, as well as decrease insomnia and providing better rest. The tincture is one of my favorite ways to offer the placenta because it utilizes a very minimal piece of the placenta but the application can be used for years. The placenta salve can be used for mama skin and baby skin.

These 7 benefits aren't the only thing to boast, they just happen to be the most impressive and our personal favorites. Some lesser-claimed but still amazing benefits include, feeling more balanced, reduced anxiety, andfewer periods of weepiness. What mom recovering from childbirth doesn't deserve all that? Look out for more statistics as we continue to gather our own evidence for placenta encapsulation by My San Diego Placenta.
